Why accuracy matters here

An incorrect penalty rate, an outdated interest figure, or a wrong description of when a particular penalty category applies could lead a reader to significantly miscalculate their Revenue exposure. Given that penalty calculations are the core function of this site, accuracy is not an abstract concern — it directly affects the financial decisions readers may make based on what they find here.

We take all correction submissions seriously and give them priority attention.

What we consider a correction

• An incorrect penalty rate (for example, a wrong surcharge percentage for a particular category of late filing)
• An incorrect interest rate or an inaccurate description of how daily interest is applied
• A wrong description of the conditions that determine whether a disclosure is prompted or unprompted
• An outdated figure that was correct at one point but has since been changed by a Finance Act or Revenue TDM update
• A calculator error — a case where the calculator produces a figure that cannot be derived from the published rules it claims to apply
• A broken or incorrect link to a Revenue source

How to submit

Include:

• The page URL or description of the calculator scenario
• The specific figure or statement you believe is wrong
• What you believe the correct figure or statement to be
• The Revenue TDM reference, Finance Act provision, or other source you are relying on

Review process

1. Acknowledgement within two working days.
2. Verification against the relevant Revenue TDM on penalties, interest, or voluntary disclosures. If the correction concerns the calculator's logic, a technical review of the calculation method is performed.
3. Update of the affected page or calculator if the correction is confirmed. Corrections to penalty rates or interest figures are treated as priority updates given their direct impact on the reliability of the calculator.
4. Response to the submitter.

We aim to complete the process within five working days. Calculator errors that affect estimates by more than a small margin are treated as urgent and addressed as quickly as possible.

How corrections are marked

Minor corrections (broken links, typographical errors) are applied without a visible notice. Significant corrections (wrong penalty rates, incorrect interest figures, calculator logic errors) are noted on the relevant page with a correction date and a description of what was changed. Material corrections are recorded in the log below.
